For over 12 years across all legalized jurisdictions, I’ve served as outside general counsel to California’s best and most resilient legal cannabis operators, advising them on corporate transactions & governance, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracts, and local and state regulatory and administrative matters.  Industry executives, organizations, private investors, and public companies have turned to me for this real world, earned experience and perspective.

While the substance of each dispute is unique, what’s at the heart of all stalemates between partners, colleagues, families and businesses is something as universal as it is tender; it’s human. In my approach, conflicts do not have to be wars, understanding does not equal agreement, and tension means you care. Resolutions do not require that “everyone is unhappy at the end of the day.” We can do better than this. Solutions can be net positive, inside and out.
